Hello everyone! I’ll give you some information about Spanish nation and culture in this blog. Spain is a country that interests me in terms of its culture and history.

Spaniards love listening to music very much. They usually work for 13 or 14 hours every day. Shops are closed between 2-4 p.m.; This is called “Siesta Time”. In general, they actively work after 8 p.m. They like to celebrate the arrival of spring and have fun. The tomato festivals held every year are valuable for them. Around 150 tons of tomatoes are used in the festival. Besides the tomato festival, there are also bullfights.

Spaniards love to talk loudly. On the internet, you can see them laughing “jajaja” or “jejeje”. They have helpful and caring personalities. They are too conservative about the English language. Except for the cities of Barcelona and Madrid, there aren’t many people speaking English. Everyone speaks their native language, Spanish.

Primary education lasts 6 years, and it is compulsory between the ages of 6 and 16. Secondary education lasts for 4 years, and it is followed by 2 years of higher secondary education. In addition, Spain’s education system is ranked 18th in the world’s best education systems list. Students take the “Selectividad” exam in their last year of high school education to apply to university. After graduation, they have the opportunity to pursue a doctorate or a master’s degree.
